The role
SAP Consulting Manager
Our client is seeking a senior SAP consulting leader to take responsibility for a global Functional Consulting team supporting customers within the Life Sciences sector. German language is essential and you will be based in the South West of Germany with some onsite days required each week.
This is a senior leadership position with a broad remit spanning people management, consulting capability development, project oversight and the continued growth of the SAP services organisation. You will lead and develop an international consulting function, ensuring teams have the right structure, skills and support to deliver complex SAP programmes successfully.
Alongside responsibility for the consulting team, you will play an important role in improving delivery standards and processes, supporting key customer engagements and helping the business develop its SAP consulting capabilities as it grows.
The position requires someone who can operate comfortably at both strategic and operational level – from developing consultants and future leaders through to overseeing major customer programmes, supporting commercial activities and working closely with senior management.
We are particularly interested in candidates who combine strong SAP consulting and delivery experience with proven leadership of consulting teams or practices. Experience within Life Sciences, Pharmaceuticals or MedTech is important, together with an understanding of the particular challenges of delivering SAP solutions in regulated environments.
This is an excellent opportunity for an established SAP consulting leader to take ownership of an international function and have a genuine influence on how the organisation develops.
Required Experience
- Significant leadership experience gained within an SAP consulting or professional services environment
- A strong functional SAP background with a good understanding of complex implementation programmes
- Demonstrable experience managing and developing consulting teams across multiple countries
- Experience building consulting capability and introducing effective delivery processes and standards
- Confidence working with senior customer stakeholders and communicating at executive level
- Good commercial understanding combined with a strong focus on customer outcomes
- Relevant experience within Life Sciences, MedTech, Pharmaceuticals or another highly regulated sector
Desirable experience
- SAP professional certification
- Involvement in SAP S/4HANA transformation or implementation programmes
- Experience growing or developing an international consulting practice
- Broader experience of SAP delivery within regulated environments
What you'll be doing
- Manage and develop a geographically dispersed team of SAP Functional Consultants, including senior and team-level leadership
- Shape the direction and future development of the Functional Consulting practice
- Build consulting capability through recruitment, skills development, coaching and succession planning
- Develop and maintain consistent approaches to project delivery, quality and consulting standards
- Provide senior oversight across complex international SAP programmes and customer engagements
- Work alongside the commercial team on key opportunities, solution discussions and pre-sales activities
- Build strong working relationships across product, technology, customer-facing and senior management teams
- Track the performance of the consulting function, including resource utilisation, project performance, customer outcomes and commercial results
- Encourage knowledge sharing and continually look for ways to improve how the consulting organisation operates and delivers
What you'll get
The overall package will total €110-€130k.
